Kim Burge
          Indianette Director
      Kim Burge joined the Keller Independent School District as a  Home Economics teacher in 1979.  In the Spring of 1980, Mrs. Burge assumed the position of Indianette Director, a post she has held for 20  years.  She holds both Bachelor's and Master's degrees from the University of North Texas.
     Throughout the years, her teams have won top honors and the Indianettes have performed for commercials, numerous Dallas Cowboys pregame and halftime performances, community events, the Worlds Fair, the New Orleans Saints, the World Cup opening ceremonies, the Macy's
Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Cotton Bowl parade, and more.
      Mrs. Burge has been active in her professional organizations by serving on the executive board of  the national organization, Dance/Drill Team Directors of America,  as President, First Vice President, Sergeant at Arms, Workshop manager and the editor DTDA's publication, Insight.  She has been a member of DTDA since 1980, the Texas Dance and Drill Team Educator's
Association since 1982 and a member of Vocational Home Economics Teachers of  Texas since 1980.
      Mrs. Burge was honored by her dance/drill team colleagues by being selected the first "Director of the Year" in 1990 for the Texas Dance and Drill Team Educator's Association.  In 1996, Dance Drill Team Director's of America, selected Mrs. Burge as a recipient of the "Lifetime Honorary Membership" award for her service to the dance/drill team industry.  She has also been selected as a "Top Ten Director in America" by DTDA for 1997 and 1999.  In 1999, Mrs. Burge was selected by the staff at Keller High School for the honor of "Co-Teacher of the Year" and was selected as a finalist for "KISD Teacher of the Year". Mrs Burge has also been selected as an honoree of Who's Who Among American High School Teachers in 1992, 1994, 1996, 1998.
      Mrs. Burge has conducted numerous workshops for both state and national conferences and has written articles for Insight, Dance/Drill and InMotion magazines.  She is the co-author of the "Getting It All Together" book series, written for dance/drill team directors.  Mrs. Burge is the creator and maintains the websites "Family & Consumer Science Resources Online", "PSAT-SAT Resources",  "Dance-N-Drill", and the Indianette website.  Besides also serving as a national, state and local contest/tryout adjudicator, she is also a mother to two wonderful children, ages 9 and 5 and a wife to a very loving and supportive husband.
